Inspired by the early Paik-Abe video synthesizer, Sloppy Machine is a generative audio-visual system built with Touchdesigner & VCV Rack. This 30-minute edition is an assemblage of ephemeral films sourced from the internet archives, varying glitch effects and overlays, and inspirational quotes generated by chatGPT from the perspective of a sloppy machine, accompanied by an ever-evolving ambient soundscape. Sloppy Machine was originally commissioned for (s)hiver arts fest 2023, in Dawson City, Yukon.
